Ice breakers
Superlative Game
1. Students are split up into teams of 4-5.
2. The teacher will call out different categories such as “Line up from tallest in height to shortest”.
3. The students will line up and once they believe they are finished they will sit in their seats.
4. The first team to do it correctly will be awarded points.
5. The teacher will continue to call out different categories until a winner is declared.
6. Extra rules are no talking or only using your head and feet to motion where to move.
7. The purpose of the activity is to get students comfortable with each other in a group setting.
Take a Stand
1. The teacher moves the desk to the side and places a piece of tape down the middle of the room.
2. The teacher calls out different questions such as “Do you prefer day or night?” or “Do you prefer the North or the South?”
3. Students then pick a side of the stance or straddle the middle if they’re undecided.
4. The purpose of the activity is to get students comfortable with making choices and with their peers possibly choosing sides that are different from their own.
